Fees

The daily fee for long day care is $145.

Your new centre’s name

In consultation with local Traditional Owners, Early Learning Victoria Nyernilang Lar has been chosen as the name of the new early learning and childcare centre at Eaglehawk North Primary School. Nyernilang Lar is a Dja Dja Wurrung word meaning learning place or centre.

During the planning, design, and construction phases, the centre was known by its interim name, Eaglehawk North Primary School Early Learning and Childcare Centre.

About the centre

We have opened a new early learning and childcare centre at Eaglehawk North Primary School.

The Victorian Government-owned centre provides long day care, Three-Year-Old and Four-Year-Old Kindergarten programs, with space for up to 102 local children each day.

Our centre features 5 purpose-built rooms designed to cater to different age groups, so every child has the space to learn, play, and grow.

The centre has:

  • a consulting room for child and family services, such as maternal and child health and allied health
  • a multi-purpose room for community meetings and playgroups.

Programs

  • Long day care: We provide 102 places for children aged between birth and 6 years.
  • Kinder programs: We provide integrated kinder for 3- and 4-year-olds within the long day care setting.
  • There is at least one qualified kindergarten teacher in each kinder room providing a high-quality kinder program for 3- and 4-year-olds.

Ratios

All our centres comply with national standards for educator-to-child ratios:

  • For babies and children under 3 years old, this means 1 educator for every 4 children.
  • For children aged 3 years and above, this means 1 educator for every 11 children.
