About us

Early Learning Victoria is committed to high-quality early childhood education and care. We create inclusive environments where children thrive.

Early Learning Victoria

Early Learning Victoria is a Victorian government organisation. We’re committed to providing high-quality early childhood education and care. Our approach is child-centred, with a focus on learning through play. We foster strong connections to nature and local communities.

  • Child-centred approach: We create environments that support all children’s learning and development needs. We embrace each child’s unique strengths, abilities, and interests.
  • Quality educational programs: Our programs provide rich learning opportunities. Children learn through play and connect with nature. They also enjoy positive relationships with educators and teachers. Our practices are evidence-based and informed by the latest research.
  • Inclusive, integrated and connected: Our centres are inclusive, integrated and connected to the local community. Many are co-located with schools and include other community services. This helps to make sure every child has a smooth and supported educational journey.

Brand guidelines

Our brand guidelines outline how to represent Early Learning Victoria consistently and professionally across all platforms. They are a valuable resource for partners, collaborators, and anyone working with our brand.

Initiatives of Early Learning Victoria

Early Learning Victoria is setting up 50 early learning and childcare centres by 2032. The first 4 centres opened in 2025. From 2026, 18 centres will provide over 1,800 licensed places for local children and families. Another 12 centres will open in sites across Victoria throughout 2027 and 2028. The remaining centres will open between 2029-2032.

This initiative is part of the Victorian Government’s Best Start, Best Life reforms. These changes aim to improve access to early education and care, giving children the best start in life.

Benefits of the new centres

Our centres provide long day care and integrated kinder programs. This setup gives parents more flexibility and offers children enriching learning experiences.

We offer Three-Year-Old and Four-Year-Old Kindergarten programs. Four-Year-Old Kindergarten programs are transitioning to Pre-Prep in line with the roll-out schedule.

We are building centres in areas that need them the most. They are co-located with schools wherever possible.

Integrated kindergarten programs

Our centres offer integrated kinder in a long day care setting. Children receive an approved kinder program taught by a qualified early childhood teacher. This setup provides flexible drop-off and pick-up times throughout the week to meet families’ needs.
