Staff Code of Conduct policy

This policy outlines expected standards of behaviour for staff working in Early Learning Victoria centres, including how staff are expected to engage with each other, with children and families, and with others in the community.

Early Learning Victoria centres are accessible, inclusive and integrated, providing a safe and welcoming environment for all children and their families.

They are co-located with schools and other community services to enhance relationships, professional partnerships and positive community outcomes. Partnerships with families are developed through an equitable and anti-bias approach, ensuring a truly inclusive environment.

Early Learning Victoria recognises First Nations peoples as the traditional custodians of the lands on which our centres are located and respect their history, culture and perspectives. We endeavour to form collaborative, reciprocal and respectful partnerships with First Nations people, acknowledging they can provide us with authentic First Nations perspectives, built on principles of self-determination, belonging and connection to country.

Early Learning Victoria also recognises that the standards of behaviour for adults in its centres help to ensure children and their families can benefit from high-quality and safe education and care.
